Riding the rails

The boys have been asking to go on a train for some time now. We really intended to do this sooner, but the timing was perfect. We all had a great time.
We rode into Union Station, enjoyed looking at the river and watching the draw bridges go up and down as the sailboats passed through. Then we headed over to Willis Tower and since it was a clear day, decided to head to the top. The boys especially liked spotting U.S. Cellular Field and Soldier Field from on high. We had lunch in Union Station and headed home.
Every trip we make with Brett's wheel chair is a learning experience and we were really impressed with Metra. Our only bump in the road was when the only available elevator in Union Station broke down with about 15 minutes to catch the train we hoped to take home. Tate took the chair down the escalator while I took the boys. It all worked out in the end.

Fun in 'Sconsin

We made our annual trip to Grammy & Poppy's for Memorial Day weekend. We drove up on a rainy day, but were able to enjoy two trips to the beach and lots of family fun in between!

Plenty to do inside even on a rainy day:

Lots of outdoor fun - baseball, squirt bottles and pine cone hunting.

Is that bench getting smaller?

A favorite every year a trip to Cow Beach (Thank you Pat & Don for your hospitality!)
A first this year the boys all jumped off the end of the pier into the "deep" water!

We had great sleepers!
